Staff serving indigenous and rural communities were invited to participate in a three-day gathering April 16th through April 18th, 2024 in Salt Lake City, UT (both in-person and virtual options for joining are available) to empower healthcare professionals to not only provide excellence in emergency medical care, but to do so in a manner that honors and respects the historical and cultural context of the communities they serve.
The theme of the 2024 national emRIC (Emergency Medicine with Rural and Indigenous Communities) gathering was Emerging Stronger as we brought together community leaders, nurses, physicians, pharmacists, medics, residents, students, administrators, and all who were interested, to share in a collective aim to provide excellence in clinical care, leadership and operations, cultural humility, education, clinician wellness, and advocacy within our rural and Indigenous communities.
As part of pre-conference sessions, participants also had the opportunity to do hands-on ultrasound training, and learn new procedural skills in emergency care.
Dates: April 16-18, 2024
Location: Salt Lake City Marriott University Park, 480 Wakara Way, Salt Lake City, Utah 84108
