Kim Pruett, MD, grew up in Albuquerque, NM, and completed her undergraduate degree from the Air Force Academy. She served 6 years in the active-duty Air Force as an intelligence officer. Upon completion of her military commitment, she returned to Albuquerque to work as an EMT while completing pre-requisites for medical school. Eventually, she was accepted to University of New Mexico School of Medicine and then completed her emergency medicine residency at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. She returned to Albuquerque and completed a rural/tribal EMS fellowship at UNM and is now faculty in the Department of Emergency Medicine serving as the Medical Director for Albuquerque Fire Rescue and Medical Director for the state of New Mexico.

Emergency Medical Services ECHO Program

Kim is faculty for the EMS ECHO Program, which is designed to effectively integrate and optimize first response, basic/intermediate/and advanced life support services and treat patients locally with holistic, culturally appropriate care.
