The (Largely) Unknown HIPAA Privacy Rule Provision that Can Be Used to Expand Care Coordination and Speed Access to Social Services | June 18, 2024

June 18 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm PDT

We invite you to join Indian Country ECHO for a Grand Rounds, “The (Largely) Unknown HIPAA Privacy Rule Provision that Can Be Used to Expand Care Coordination and Speed Access to Social Services”. In this presentation, Chris Alibrandi O’Connor, JD, a legal consultant and former Deputy Director with the Network for Public Health Law, will describe how HIPAA permits disclosure of Protected Health Information to community health workers when they are part of a person’s care coordination.  The one-hour Grand Rounds session includes an opportunity to engage in a didactic presentation, gain insight on how Indian Health Service, Tribal and Urban Indian (I/T/U) facilities may effectively improve linkage to care, become part of a learning community, and ask questions about navigating HIPAA for care coordination in Indigenous healthcare systems.
