CAPT Dena Wilson, MD, FACC, is a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Dena received her medical degree from the University of Washington in 2003. She completed both her internal medicine residency and cardiovascular fellowship at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. Dena is board certified in cardiovascular disease and began her career as a staff cardiologist with the Native American Cardiology Program based out of the University Medical Center in Tucson.  In 2010, she transitioned the Native American Cardiology Program to Flagstaff Medical Center to provide services to the underserved population of rural Northern Arizona. In 2015, Dr. Wilson transferred to the Phoenix Indian Medical Center, where she began a cardiovascular service line and worked as a full-time cardiologist. In 2017, she accepted the role as the Clinical Consultant for the Division of Diabetes Treatment and Prevention and in 2018 rejoined PIMC as the Director of Specialty Services.  Dena is currently the Chief Medical Officer for the Phoenix Area overseeing 4 hospitals, 3 outpatient clinics and a Youth Regional Treatment Center throughout AZ, UT, and NV.

Cardiology ECHO Program

Dena is Lead Faculty with the Cardiology ECHO program, which is designed to provide valuable information on diagnosis and management of individuals living with common cardiac conditions.
