In this series of presentations, Dr. Jeff McCollum, Director of the Division of Epidemiology and Disease Prevention at IHS, provides a situation report on the COVID-19 pandemic in Indian Country. Then, Dr. Jonathan Iralu, Chief Clinical Consultant for Infectious Diseases at IHS, gives a weekly clinical update on COVID-19. Finally, Bernard Jones, Chief of Staff and Vice President, Public Policy Liaison Officer, COVID-19 Incident Command & Thomas Walsh, Vice President, Analytics, Planning, Strategy and Implementation, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, discuss phased reopening and ambulatory operations.

Jeff McCollum, DVM, MPH, is the Director of the Division of Epidemiology and Disease Prevention for the Indian Health Service.

Jonathan Iralu, MD, FACP, is the Indian Health Service Chief Clinical Consultant for Infectious Diseases. He has a special interest in HIV, tuberculosis and sexually transmitted disease care in rural communities. His research has focused on undifferentiated febrile illness in the American Southwest and on rural HIV care delivery. Dr. Iralu has worked at the Gallup Indian Medical Center since 1994 and is an instructor at Harvard Medical School and Senior Physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital Division of Global Health Equity in Boston, Massachusetts.

Bernard Jones, is the Chief of Staff and Vice President, Public Policy Liaison Officer, and COVID-19 Incident Command at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Thomas Walsh, is the Vice President, Analytics, Planning, Strategy and Implementation, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
