David is the Founder and CEO at OpiAID, a data science company making the treatment of substance use disorder safer and more effective. OpiAID leverages machine learning on data from the electronic health records (EHR) of patients and combines it with biometric data collected from wrist worn devices to provide timely and actionable data to clinicians, allowing for just-in-time interventions that can save a life, and improve retention in treatment. David has been awarded Coastal Entrepreneur of the Year, recipient of an SBIR Phase I and Fast Track funding from the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA), graduate of the NIH I-Corps program, Mentor to John Hopkins’ I4SUD program, and has presented on stages around the world on AI and the use of wearables in healthcare.
