In this presentation Alyssa Fine, RN, MSN, CDCES, CNL, will cover the use of remote blood glucose monitoring as a tool to enhance diabetes care.  Participants will gain insight into how to incorporate remote physiological monitoring (RPM) into the diabetes management workflow, including patient identification and onboarding, clinician roles, charting, and billing.  There will be a review of the benefits of RPM, with a focus on cellular-connected devices, as well as a discussion around some of the challenges that may be confronted when implementing this technology.

Alyssa Fine, RN, MSN, CDCES, CN

Alyssa Fine is a registered nurse and certified diabetes care and education specialist currently stationed with the Cowlitz Indian Tribe.  As the Wellness & Diabetes Coordinator, she oversees chronic disease and cancer prevention initiatives and the tribal garden.  In addition, she is the diabetes coordinator, providing individual and group diabetes education and implementing population management strategies to improve diabetes care and outcomes.  Alyssa obtained her MSN from the University of California, Los Angeles and her BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Prior to transferring to work with the Cowlitz Indian Tribe fiver years ago, she served as the infectious disease and performance improvement specialist with the Bureau of Prisons in Danbury, CT.  In her free time, Alyssa enjoys dragon boating, kayaking, backpacking, traveling, reading, and cooking.
