The Indian Country Dermatology ECHO provides comprehensive information to support Indian Health Service, Tribal, and Urban Indian clinicians to improve dermatologic care and access for American Indian and Alaska Native people. In this session, Dr. Ngan “May” Do, MD, lead faculty for the Dermatology Program and second-year dermatology resident at the University of Pennsylvania, reviews common types of scarring alopecia, including central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia (CCCA), frontal fibrosing alopecia (FFA), lichen planopilaris (LPP), as well as traction alopecia.

Ngan (May) Do, MD is a second-year dermatology resident at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Missouri – Columbia and received her MD from the University of Washington, where she also completed an Indian Health Pathway. This was a unique educational experience for medical students to learn how to provide culturally proficient care for AI/AN patients through the use of specialized lecture series, community events, and immersion clinical experiences in medical practices that serve the AI/AN communities. Her professional and clinical interests include mentoring underrepresented minorities in healthcare, serving Indian Country, and pediatric and complex medical dermatology.
