Sensing Safety in the Self — Somatic Release and Regulation Practice presented by Susan Ackerman Joseph SEP, PNE, PHP/SRT, MFT. This presentation introduces the concept of nervous system release and regulation through gentle movement, stillness, breath, and self-contact/touch exercises.  Drawing upon various teachings about the physiology of trauma, including Somatic Experiencing and polyvagal theory,  the simple techniques shared are helpful during a crisis or can be incorporated into an ongoing personal wellness practice. Benefits include pain reduction, softening of tension, and more balanced emotional and physical energy.
