Cheryl Hankard, is the Naandwe Noojimowin Program Manager at the Maamwesying North Shore Community Health Services, Inc.. For the past 10 years, she has had the privilege to work with the partner communities of Mamaweswen, the North Shore Tribal Council’s N’Mninoeyaa Aboriginal Health Access Centre as the Traditional Health and Healing Coordinator. In collaboration with representatives from partner communities, they have strived to ensure access to the services of Traditional Healers and cultural based activities / ceremonies. Prior to her current role, she worked in the healthcare field as an RN for 25 years before moving into Aboriginal health and wellness. Since 1995, her focus expanded to the more holistic, Annishinaabe approach to health and well-being, including traditional forms to prevent, maintain and restore health and wellness.
