We invite you to join Indian Country ECHO for a Grand Rounds session focused on Taking a Sexual History and Expedited Partner Therapy. In this series of presentations, Kelly Pretty Weasel, RN, Director of Public Health Nursing Crow/Northern Cheyenne Hospitals, discusses scripts that make it easier to talk about sexual health and history with patients, common topics that come up with both ‘routine’ and ‘complex’ patients, and how to document the encounter in RPMS. Then, Andrew Yu, MS, RN, ACRN, National HIV/HCV/STI Clinical Coordinator at Indian Health Service Headquarters, provides an overview of the evidence supporting EPT for chlamydia and gonorrhea, examples of EPT policy and delivery, and the importance of providing Penicillin G Benzathine injections for syphilis to partners/contacts. The one-hour Grand Rounds session includes an opportunity to engage in a didactic presentation, gain insight on how I/T/U facilities may effectively integrate taking a sexual history, implement expedited partner therapy, become part of a learning community, and join an Infectious Disease ECHO Program. CE will be available. At the end of this session, attendees will be able to:

  • Conduct a sexual history with patients
  • Implement Expedited Partner Therapy
  • Update an Expedited Partner Therapy policy
